We started because handovers kept failing.
Four engineers, one rented room off Bannerghatta Road, and a shared frustration: every project they'd worked on had shipped well and then quietly decayed once the build team left. Eleven years later, Climentos is 260 people — and still organised around that one problem.
A build practice and a talent practice, run as one business.
The conventional model has a systems integrator build the thing and a staffing agency fill the seats afterwards. Neither is accountable for the gap between them, and the gap is where systems die.
So Climentos runs both. The engineers who design a platform brief the recruiters who hire its permanent team. The trainers who run the handover cohort are the same people who wrote the code. When we place an engineer with a client, they've often already worked on that client's codebase.
It is a slower business to run and a harder one to sell. It's also why 96% of our clients are still with us in year two, and why we can quote a fixed price with a straight face.
What we won't do
- Hold your code, credentials or documentation as commercial leverage
- Quote a price before we understand the problem
- Put a junior on a role we sold as senior
- Recommend a rewrite when a repair would do
- Take a project we don't have the domain depth for
We've turned down roughly one in five enquiries on the last point alone. It costs us revenue and saves us reputation.
Eleven years, roughly in order.
Drag sideways. The dull years are included on purpose — 2018 and 2021 were the ones that taught us the most.
Four people, one room
Founded in Bengaluru doing Java maintenance work for two logistics clients. Payroll met on the 29th, most months.
First platform build
A dispatch system for a regional carrier. Still running, now on its fourth major version.
Talent practice opens
Started hiring for clients after a handover collapsed. It was meant to be a one-off favour.
Pune centre
Second office, focused on enterprise systems and QA. First 50-person year.
The year we overreached
Took three projects outside our domain depth. Two went badly. We wrote the rule about turning work down.
ISO 27001
Certified across both centres, which unlocked banking and healthcare work.
Fully distributed
Moved 180 people remote in nine days. Kept 40% of it permanently.
Attrition year
Lost 31% of engineering to the hiring boom. Rebuilt compensation bands and the internal training programme from scratch.
Dubai and London
Client-facing delivery in EMEA. SOC 2 Type II achieved.
Atlas ERP ships
Our first licensable product, built out of six years of repeated ERP work.
AI practice formed
18 engineers moved across. First rule written: no production model without an evaluation set.
Austin and Singapore
Six centres, 260 people, and four hours of live overlap with any client time zone.
Where we are now
340 systems shipped. Still organised around the handover problem.
Four commitments we can be held to.
Ownership is not negotiable
Your code, infrastructure, credentials and documentation are yours from the first commit. We keep nothing back.
Bad news travels fast
If a date is going to slip we tell you the week we know, not the week before delivery. Nobody enjoys it. It's the job.
The named people are the real people
The engineers in the proposal are the engineers on the project. Substitutions get flagged before they happen.
Handover is a deliverable
Runbooks, decision records and recorded walkthroughs ship with the system, not after a renewal conversation.
The people accountable for the work.
All five still take client calls. Three still write code, which their teams describe as a mixed blessing.
Aditya Krishnan
CO-FOUNDER & CEO
Was a Java contractor for nine years before starting Climentos. Owns the rule about turning down work outside our domain depth, having personally broken it in 2018.
Meera Deshpande
CO-FOUNDER & CTO
Leads architecture review. Signs off every fixed-price estimate personally, which is why they mostly hold.
Samuel Rodrigues
CHIEF DELIVERY OFFICER
Runs the six centres and the delivery standard they share. Former air traffic systems engineer, which explains a lot about the runbooks.
Nandini Bhatt
HEAD OF TALENT
Rebuilt hiring after 2021. Replaced whiteboard interviews with paid work samples and published the retention data to prove it worked.
Imran Farooqi
HEAD OF AI PRACTICE
Came from applied research. Wrote the rule that no model reaches production without a labelled evaluation set the client owns.

We're hiring across platform engineering, AI, QA and talent operations — Bengaluru, Pune and remote.
See open rolesCertified where it counts, and audited on a schedule.
Banking and healthcare clients put us through their own security reviews on top of our certifications. That process has improved us more than the certifications did.

Ask for three references — one recent, one from five years ago, one from a project that went badly. We'll give you all three.
